When playing solo mode, patterns to match are never displayed. However, if you match the non-displayed patterns, you score points for them (see move #4) - you just don't know what you're trying to match.
Also, I've never played the physical game and there are no solo specific rules listed on the website, so I don't know if the scoring is different for solo, but I've noticed that it seems to do the final scoring based on the most common color in the display rather than based on your meeple color. As an example in the table given in this report, my color was purple, but I scored 15 points (6 orange fish) on the first display, even though there was only one purple fish. Is this intended? -

In any case, when filling a bug report, make sure to have an explicit title linked to the incident (ex: with error message), so other players can recognize it and vote for it.
