I get that the suggestion for a complete table layout was rejected for the sake of visibility, but for the same reason, wouldn't it be easier to follow what's happening, if cards that opponents play are displayed with images, rather than just texts? That way, you don't need to shuffle your gaze between the quickly-moving texts and the play area. Cards that demand other players to do something, such as Eggplant, or ones which prompt a choice of target, like corn and leek, already do it anyway, so perhaps it would be easier to extend this to others? The interface is fine as-is, but that small tweak(as opposed to an entire table layout) might improve visibility & ease of learning the game
Plus it allows more time spent looking at the cute art!
